Women Changemakers
Karen Stinson believes that every employee deserves to be respected, valued and appreciated. For more than 20 years she's been advising businesses to employ this philosophy in their workplaces.

But she doubted that businesses shared her ideals — until she founded ProGroup, a Minneapolis firm that provides workplace diversity training and consulting.

"I didn't believe they would pay me to do this," said Stinson, who's also CEO. "But I believe in this. … It's an honor to get to know about people and the stories in their lives."

That passion for helping executives analyze the biases within their businesses drove Stinson to create ProGroup's pioneering assessment tools. The firm, which has 25 local staff and 65 consultants across the United States, has a client list of Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies that includes American Express Financial Advisors, General Mills Inc. and Target Corp.
