Tools of Engagement: Creating Inclusive Work Environment
April 25th, 2007
11:30 a.m.
Womans Club of Minneapolis
This session, the third in the diversity series offered by The Woman's Club of Minneapolis, is a fine compliment to the first two offered. The first session addressed why diversity competency was important to every organization. The second session addressed how to create an organization where diversity is valued and appreciated. This, the third of the trilogy, focuses on you as an individual and will increase your self awareness.

Tools of Engagement gives you an opportunity to examine your own biases, assumptions and preferences and how they may be impacting your behavior as you interact with employees and others. At the end of this session, you will have the awareness and tools to be more of a Change Agent as you interact with others.

Tools of Engagement is a highly interactive diversity training course. It takes ProGroup's award winning Tolerance Scale exercise to a deeper level than other diversity training experiences, as managers learn how their attitudes toward employees affects who they hire, who they provide feedback to, and who they use as their "go to" people.

Tools of Engagement is based on research ProGroup has conducted through hundreds of focus groups and cultural audits, as well as the latest information gleaned from Gallup studies on how to engage employees of all backgrounds, styles and cultures. It is geared so participants can apply the learning and models from Tools of Engagement as soon as they return to their jobs and personal lives.

Tools of Engagement will be delivered by Tony Orange, a nationally recognized master of diversity, who has facilitated thousands of diversity training sessions throughout the country at such organizations as Microsoft, 3M, General Mills, Carlson Worldwide, Home Depot, State Farm Insurance and The Mayo Clinic. Tony is guaranteed to evoke deep discussion, ask insightful questions, trigger lots of laughter and leave people with an unforgettable experience.
