Situation
ProGroup responded to the Request for Proposal and was awarded the contract for Aetna Healthcare's for Cross Cultural Competency Training. Aetna's goal was to address issues of cultural competency and disparities in the health and health care of emerging markets' populations with action-oriented training to improve national health, reduce costs, and position itself for long-term success in emerging markets.
Process
ProGroup partnered with Aetna to create a three-part E-learning tutorial (computer-based training "CBT") and one-day classroom-based Cultural Competency Certification Program for National Accounts Field Sales and Service professionals. As a result of the CBT and classroom programs, Aetna employees have highly-applicable skills and tools including personal action steps to increase cultural competency, customer action plans; the Emerging Markets Toolkit™, Customer Cultural Continuums™; and identified internal Aetna resources necessary to succeed at Aetna.
Results
ProGroup has received consistently high participant evaluations, with comments that indicate that they feel that this training is one of the best learning opportunities and sales/service programs experienced within Aetna.
