As a consultant, trainer, and facilitator in the areas of diversity awareness and management, Scott has worked with some of the country's largest and most successful organizations. In addition to his work with ProGroup, Scott also subcontracts with several other consulting firms and develops and delivers curriculum and consulting through his own organization, Delta Concepts Consulting and Training.
Few people would have predicted that Scott Horton would dedicate his career to helping people to be more effective working within diverse organizations. He grew up in a conservative, homogeneous Pennsylvania Dutch community. A high school trip to Europe with 150 musicians from across the U.S. started Scott on a lifelong journey of learning and teaching about diversity, leadership, and team building.
Scott received his undergraduate degree in business from James Madison University and his masters in counseling from The Ohio State University. Prior to working as a consultant, he served as a student affairs director at four universities including Texas Christian and Emory. Scott is a popular presenter on the college speaking circuit, delivering his message of diversity awareness and personal growth to thousands of college students nationwide, teaching leadership and advising multi-cultural groups. Scott has also become a sought after meeting facilitator and event coordinator.
Some of Scott's clients include Kellogg, Merck, Eli Lilly, Dell, IBM, Coca-Cola, Eastman Kodak, U.S. Postal Service, Lockheed Martin, Dow Chemical, The Southern Companies, Anheuser Busch, PepsiCo, U.S. Air Force, and The American Red Cross.
